PAM MEMBERS WILL ENJOY 50% REDUCTION IN THEIR MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTION FEE
PAM Council has decided to allow 50% reduction of pam membership subscription fee for all categories of membership for year 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the current COVID-19 Pandemic and economic recession, many parties are affected including our members. Many of our members including graduate members are affected by retrenchment, lay-off, salary cut, and many practitioners are unable to collect fee payment.
We are not in the position to give full financial assistance to our members to help their survival under this trying situation, however, we hope this will help to reduce the financial burdens of our members.
PAM Council also hope that this fee reduction will bring more architects and graduate architects to join PAM as members and also to assist existing members in renewing their membership subscriptions. PAM always value its members participations, as the strength of our Institute is from its large membership base.
PAM-GAHARA BATIK MILLENNIA STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION 2020
Gahara and PAM Education Committee will be collaborating on a design competition targeting architecture students to create a batik design for a copper block suited for millennials.
Designed to provide an opportunity for students to be part of the creative economy, this competition is unique as it exposes them to both batik and entrepreneurship that can help educate them about culture and how to help sustain the local arts and crafts community with their contribution.
Themed “Aspirana Millennia” to allow a wide girth of what excites the younger generation, the competition seeks students to explore and innovate ideas and to combine elements of architecture to create what they feel would be a suitable pattern for a batik print on fabric. The winning motif will be converted into a copper block and hopes to put a modern and fresh spin on batik not just for Gahara, but for the batik community in Malaysia.
